Protecting voters' rights in New York

White & Case hosted and staffed a Spanish election protection hotline, Ve Y Vota, at our New York office in November. The hotline assisted voters with issues ranging from questions about polling locations to being erroneously turned away at the polls.
 
 
Translating a UN Handbook in Japan

White & Case translated chapters of the publication Working with the United Nations Human Rights Programme: A Handbook for Civil Society, which will enable more people to benefit from this UN program by understanding its purpose and operations.
 
 
Assisting Bhutan's Kidu Foundation

His Majesty the King of Bhutan created the Kidu Foundation to address critical social needs and provide for the most vulnerable. White & Case marketing professionals established the Kidu Foundation brand identity and designed its marketing collateral and website.
 
 
Our 2010 highlights

Helping children and youth in need

•  Our New York office participated in the work-study program at Cristo Rey High School in East Harlem. The annual holiday toy drive benefited children at St. Barnabas Hospital.

•  Partnerships with Toys for Tots and the Children's Law Center Adopt-a-Family Holiday Toy Drive in Washington, DC provided toys for local families. Volunteers also read to elementary school children through Everybody Wins!

•  New York and Washington employees donated school supplies through Operation Backpack.

•  Our Miami office continued to sponsor an annual Minority Mentoring Picnic.

•  Our São Paulo office joined volunteers from Y-CARE to host a holiday party for 140 children.

•  Weekly bake sales throughout the holidays in our Brussels office supported a local children's home.

•  A trivia night in London raised money for Richard House Children's Hospice, which provides care and support for terminally ill children and their families.

•  Partners and employees in Moscow organized their annual holiday party for refugee children.

•  Our Warsaw office held its annual charity auction to benefit charities for disabled children.

•  Tokyo employees donated holiday gifts for children at the St. Francis Orphanage and collected bottlecaps to provide vaccinations.

•  Our Singapore office raised money to buy clothing for the children in the Darul Ihsan Orphanage and donated school supplies to The Rainbow Centre, a school for children with learning disabilities.
 
 
Renovating schools, parks and beaches

•  Volunteers in New York painted and gardened at a middle school with Children for Children and renovated a playground with Partnership for Parks.

•  Our London office partnered with a client to paint a mural at a nature reserve that helps children learn about the environment.

•  Volunteers in Moscow renovated an orphanage in Yaroslavl Oblast.

•  Volunteers in Hong Kong cleaned a beach in collaboration with Friends of Sai Kung.
 
 
Improving quality of life for senior citizens

•  Our Shanghai office worked with Habitat for Humanity to renovate homes for the elderly and ensure a safe living environment.

•  Volunteers in New York worked with the Senior Citizen Sculpture Garden to refurbish the garden.
 
 
Helping the economically disadvantaged

•  Volunteers in London supported the Whitechapel Homeless Mission.

•  In partnership with Bread for the City, our Washington office helped provide food, clothing, medical care, and legal and social services.

•  Clothing drives in London, New York and Washington benefited the homeless and men and women returning to work.
